My name is Lisa McGee and I have been lucky enough to teach at G.S. Lakie for the past six years. I grew up on a farm outside of Lethbridge and attended the U of L. I was thrilled to be placed at G.S. Lakie for my PSIII and was hired to teach grade seven math, science and physical education after graduating with a B.A/B.Ed. I also taught the K&E (Knowledge and Employability) Program for five years. I currently teach grade six math and science and am one of the head coaches of the Track and Field team. I have been able to share my passion of Marine Biology with grade eight students for the past five years by taking over one hundred students to explore the beautiful Gulf Islands of British Columbia onboard a seventy foot sailing vessel.
In my free time I enjoy kayaking and canoeing. I have been fortunate enough to complete the world’s longest canoe/kayak race in the Yukon three times and have recently earned my first Spartan Trifecta. I also enjoy snowboarding, hiking and spending time with my adorable dog. This past winter I even learned to dogsled!
