I have taught for over 25 years at the middle school level, the majority of those as a general classroom teacher, and more recently as a Learning Support Teacher (LST). I earned combined Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Lethbridge (1996), and more recently (2014), completed a Master of Education degree in Inclusive Education and Neuroscience, also from the University of Lethbridge. What I enjoy most about teaching is being able to connect with students in ways that help them feel safe and engaged. I believe that the foundation of any pursuit in a middle school (classroom, sports, music, fine arts, etc) begins with authentic, positive relationships with and between staff and students. This guides my practice each and every day.
