Nicole Wiest

Hello!

My name is Nicole (Nicki) Wiest. This year I will be teaching math/science 7 amongst other options classes such as Outdoor Ed, Numeracy, Chess and Sports Enrichment! This will be my third year at Lakie and second year in grade 7. Here at the school outside of the classroom my main priority is coaching the Girls Rep Volleyball Team.

I grew up on an acreage outside of Taber, Alberta before moving to Lethbridge to play post-secondary volleyball at Lethbridge College. During that time, I fell in love with science and decided to pursue a bit of my degree at the University of Victoria so I could live by the ocean for a few years. I did, however, return home to Lethbridge to complete my Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education at the University of Lethbridge. Following my final practicum at VHS I was offered a teaching job and began my teaching career in January of 2019.

I am extremely passionate about science and understanding the world around me which I incorporate into my classroom daily. My genuine love for the topic certainly comes through in my teaching. Outside of science I am passionate about hiking, water sports, skiing, golfing, physical and mental health, my family, and my puppy Llouis.
