After spending some amazing time in the Spanish Bilingual program at Coalbanks, I am super excited to join the amazing teaching team here at G.S. Lakie and expanding the Spanish Bilingual program here.

I began my teaching career at W.R. Myers in Taber teaching high school social studies, drama, Spanish language options.

I am so fortunate to be in such a rewarding profession. I believe strongly in second language acquisition and the concepts of bilingual education. I think students benefit intellectually and in every other facet of their life. I grew up in Nicaragua in the 1970s (I know that makes me kinda old). I learned Spanish and English simultaneously as a child. I am looking forward to all the fabulous things we can accomplish with the Spanish Bilingual Program.

My teaching philosophy is based on the desire to have all students that I connect with motivated to explore their own capabilities. I have high expectations of my students in the context of an environment where they feel safe to make mistakes and welcome their own amazing achievement.

I am a drama nerd as well. I think the fine arts are an amazing way for students to access multiple ways of learning and use their natural abilities. I am excited about the amazing shows and other adventures that we will build together.
