I'm Kate Waldie, and I was born and raised here in West Lethbridge. In 2004, I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Education (Elementary major, Special Education *now Learning Support* minor).

Over the years, I have had the privilege of teaching at various schools within Lethbridge School Division, including Probe, Senator Buchanan, LCI, and Nicholas Sheran (with a long stretch of parenting in there too). These experiences have enriched my teaching skills and allowed me to connect with a diverse range of students and their unique learning needs.

Teaching is not just a profession for me; it is a passion and I can't help but pour my heart into it. I truly believe in the power of inclusion and brain-based education. I have a strong background in learning support, and I am dedicated to providing individualized attention to help each student thrive academically and emotionally.

Outside of my classroom, my hands are full raising my three beautiful kids alongside my amazing partner, Will. In the rare moments of spare time I have, you might find me taking care of my plant babies or out on the local running trails training for a long distance race (very slowly).

I'm thrilled to join the teaching team at Lakie and embrace the adventure of middle school.
