Kathleen Janzen

My name is Kathleen Janzen and this is my first year at G.S. Lakie. I will be teaching grade 8 Language Arts and Social Studies. Additionally, I will be teaching grade 6/7 Physical Education. I am also looking forward to involving myself in the basketball world as that has been my favorite sport all my life. I enjoy being able to teach and coach a variety of students which provides ample opportunities to diversify my teaching abilities.

I grew up in southern prairie Saskatchewan and moved to Manitoba after I graduated high school in 2010. I lived in Manitoba for almost 10 years before my husband and I moved our lives to Lethbridge, Alberta in 2019. My husband and I have a 4-year old daughter named Ava, a 1-year old son named Jack, a 13-year old dog named Hartley, and a 1-year old dog named Blue. Life is busy! 

My expectations for my teaching are simple. I want the students to have a wholesome educational experience that influences their social, emotional, and physical well-being so that their academic success can flourish. In return, I want my students to be active and responsible learners who show respect for self and others.
