My name is Courtney Wehlage and I am so thankful to have been at GS Lakie since 2015-2016 school year. I love being a GATOR!
I graduated with a B.FA (dramatic arts)/B.ED from the University of Lethbridge in 2006. After that, I started a fulltime job at FP Walshe in Fort Macleod where I stayed for 10 years before coming to the swamp at Lakie.
I believe that all students are different, and therefore learn at different rates and in different ways. It is my job to provide a variety of learning experiences so that all students can learn and grow throughout the year. Middle School is a beautiful time where I believe students should experience a variety of learning to help them develop who they are as an independent thinker and find their voice as a unique individual.
This year at G.S. Lakie I will be teaching art and drama with a special collaborative course where we are devising a musical around the "Wizard of Oz" to be performed in March at the Yates Memorial Theatre.
I look forward to another great year here at GS Lakie and hope to see you all out for our production in March.
